Meet the Pride Worldwide: Doug Graham

Meet Chief Trust Officer, Doug Graham

Name: Doug Graham

Doug Graham

Hometown/Lionbridge Office:

Waltham, MA—but my heart is in my hometown of Glasgow, Scotland.

Job Title:

Chief Trust Officer

How long have you been at Lionbridge?

Since February 2019

What does a typical work day look like for you?

It’s quite varied. Typically, it’s a bad day if I’m having an emergency, so I try not to have too many of them. My team and I have a very customer-first approach, so we prioritize items outstanding for our customer and sales teams, deal with any other tactical issues, and then continue to drive on our strategic projects.

What is your favorite place in your office?

I enjoy all of the different areas for different reasons, so I try to travel around a bit. I thrive on the energy (and Nitro cold brew coffee) in the sales area, enjoy geeking out with the IT and engineering teams, discussing the peculiarities of people with HR, and I even occasionally venture back to finance, but usually only because I want something—it’s quiet there. 😊

What is the best part of your job?

I grew up protecting things and have a very strong sense of duty, so I love the aspect of my job that relates to protecting the company, our employees, and our data, but I like solving difficult problems that cross different departments and time zones. Also, since security is often happening in the background or perceived as a blocker, it’s great when my team members get recognition from sales teams and customers for helping them win a deal.

Fill in the blanks:

I speak 1 language (list them!)

...and some people might even say with my Scottish accent even my English is difficult to understand.

My favorite local saying is ______, [and it means ______, if not English].

"How hard can it be?"

A tourist visiting my city shouldn’t miss…

For Waltham/Boston it’s all about the ocean—go whale watching.

Outside of work, I always make time for...

Scuba diving—I’m REALLY into scuba diving.

The best piece of career advice I’ve ever received is...

“You are the CEO of your own career. Don’t expect someone to manage it for you—set up your strategy and drive execution. If you don’t have goals and a plan, then don’t expect to wake up one morning and be on the top of the ladder.”

My hidden talent is…

The ability to dive to >100 meters, or 330 feet.

Coffee makes me roar.
