This year sure was different but despite it all, we’re incredibly proud of our global team who stepped up to learn new ways of working and stayed focused on innovating and delivering for our customers.
To our customers, global Pride leadership, and friends—thank you. We appreciate your resiliency, and we’re grateful to you for reaffirming our belief in the human spirit.
This year more than ever, we feel it is important to take the time to celebrate positive highlights. Here are 20 that we’re full of pride to share. Looking forward to roaring with you in 2021 and to brighter days ahead.
1. In January, we welcomed Corinne Saunders to the Pride as our new Managing Director of EMEA.
2. As the world began to quickly change around us, we shared a Crisis Resources Center to assist our customers with communicating in such unprecedented times.
3. With our Disruption Series, our Life Sciences team mobilized early in the pandemic to put together helpful content that would meet the needs of our customers racing to find a vaccine and treat those affected.
4. As the race for a vaccine continued globally, our Life Sciences team released a drug development resource center. Our Innovation to Immunity, Infodemic to Illumination resource set out to help our customers develop and deliver safe medicine globally.
5. Lions across the globe adjusted to working remotely, and we shared insights on how to Keep Calm and Talk On—ensuring communication, whether written or verbal, continues despite the uncertainty.
6. We published our Definitive Guide to Over-the-Phone Interpretation, which shares how we provide customers with fast, scalable, quality-assured interpretation services.
7. Changes in our daily habits changed the e-commerce landscape and accelerated online shopping and virtual browsing. We shared how this presented challenges, but also opportunities, in our E-Commerce Disruption Series.
8. Our global events went virtual and we created the Ultimate Guide to Multilingual Virtual Events to help our customers figure out how to successfully transition and reach the largest global audience possible.
9. Speaking of virtual events, our CMO Jaime Punishill spoke at PIMPOINT 2020 and shared how linguistic excellence can drive digital transformation and global expansion.
10. We were proud to support several organizations this year, including:
11. Lionbridge was delighted to be named Best Employer for Diversity by Forbes, reaffirming our mission to break barriers and build bridges as a company that values inclusion and diversity.
12. Our Marketing team won 16 awards, including: recognition from Bell Ringer Awards, W3 Awards and Summit International Awards.
13. Robin Ayoub, General Manager of Lionbridge Canada, was elected President of AILIA.
14. We got the chance to write blog posts that highlight the quirks and intricacies of language in our Don’t Translate Series, including words in Spanish, German and Japanese that don’t have a direct translation to English.
15. The Lionbridge Gaming team celebrated new test labs in Montreal and China, increasing its local capacity and follow-the-sun capabilities.
16. The Gaming team also augmented mobile games testing capabilities with the acquisition of QUASU.
17. We were proud to share the global success of an array of our customers, including ArrivalGuides, Thule, Nordson, Swisscom, Canon, BioMarin and Clincierge.
18. Our LinkedIn page hit 200,000 followers!
19. In early November, we announced that we had sold our Artificial Intelligence division to TELUS International.
20. Looking towards 2021, we began a new series, The Future of Language Technology. We look forward to continuing this series in the new year as we celebrate our 25th year of being a leading provider of translation and localization solutions.
These are our top 20 highlights for 2020, but it barely scratches the surface of a truly transformative year at Lionbridge. We gratefully anticipate what 2021 has in store, and we’re ready to continue breaking barriers and building bridges for our global Pride, community and customers.
