Smart Data helps route each piece of content to the right workflow, find the right translator for every piece of content, detect issues and errors, and power our Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools. Smart Data works for you at every stage of the content journey and enhances the accuracy of Language Cloud automations.
We’ve been building our dataset since our inception 25 years ago. In this time, we’ve amassed one of the largest repositories of bilingual corpora. It is comprised of high-quality translations and language datasets in 2,000 language pairs. The repository contains important elements for translations and localizations.

Smart Data is an immense language data repository. The Language Cloud and its components use it to:

We use customer language data to train Language Cloud components, such as Smart MT or Smart Content. Large quantities of data are analyzed to build patterns and AI models. Customer-specific data is only used for work that pertains to that customer. The data is not shared or reused for work that is unrelated to that customer. We take privacy and security very seriously, and we have numerous security features in place. We perform third-party security audits and penetration testing for all our products.

These data types are tagged and correlated with each other.
Smart Data is the largest, curated language data repository in the industry. It enhances translations and helps improve localization processes.
Customer glossaries are vital to ensure translation consistency and capture a company’s brand voice. However, it is only one component of Smart Data, which also contains Translation Memories, trained Machine Translation (MT) engines, Do Not Translate (DNT) lists, and sets of language-specific configuration files for the Language Cloud.
The combination of company glossaries and all the other data types available in Smart Data provide significant benefits. It increases the quality of translation and accuracy of the Smart Content AI models, which can capture more issues and yield higher quality suggestions on how to improve your content.
