Content Data

Data comprised of overall content characteristics like domain, language type, content complexity, source quality, and frequently encountered issues enable us to profile inbound content and understand it better in the early stages of localization.

Translation Community™ Data

Data involving translator performance is imperative for the Language Cloud to match the right content to the right translator. We use extensive translator profile data, quality assessments, and information about translators’ experience, skills, specializations, speed, and delivery success rates to make assignments. We strive to set translators up for success. We provide them with diverse, engaging work to continuously develop their skills.

Order Data

How does Lionbridge use its customer language data to train the Language Cloud?

We use customer language data to train Language Cloud components, such as Smart MT or Smart Content. Large quantities of data are analyzed to build patterns and AI models. Customer-specific data is only used for work that pertains to that customer. The data is not shared or reused for work that is unrelated to that customer. We take privacy and security very seriously, and we have numerous security features in place. We perform third-party security audits and penetration testing for all our products.

Customer glossaries are vital to ensure translation consistency and capture a company’s brand voice. However, it is only one component of Smart Data, which also contains Translation Memories, trained Machine Translation (MT) engines, Do Not Translate (DNT) lists, and sets of language-specific configuration files for the Language Cloud.

The combination of company glossaries and all the other data types available in Smart Data provide significant benefits. It increases the quality of translation and accuracy of the Smart Content AI models, which can capture more issues and yield higher quality suggestions on how to improve your content.
